  • Classroom Teacher

    Job Summary

    The Classroom Teacher position is a full-time teaching position for kindergarten, first, or second grade. Each teacher is responsible for the executing academic lessons, managing the classroom, and ensure a positive classroom culture each day. Teachers are also responsible for collaborating with their grade level teams, particularly for lesson planning and norming instructional practices.  All Clarksdale Collegiate teachers are accountable for the intellectual preparation for each lesson, building strong and positive relationships with students and families, using data to tailor their instruction, and actively engaging in collaboration with their colleagues.

    Essential Functions

    • Execute daily lesson plans for all assigned blocks.
    • Implement all Clarksdale Collegiate routines and procedures with fidelity.
    • Submit weekly lesson plans and unit plans in a timely manner for feedback.
    • Administer comprehensive unit assessments aligned to standards and pacing plans.
    • Actively participate in all professional development sessions and weekly coaching sessions.
    • Incorporate feedback from coaches in a timely manner.
    • Communicate weekly with families and other key stakeholders.
    • Provide scholars with frequent and accurate behavioral and academic feedback.
    • Identify students who are academically at risk and initiate effective intervention strategies.
    • Consistently analyze scholar data and engage in self-reflection on practices.
    • Complete all duties, posts and tasks as assigned.

    Job Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree required.
    • Minimum two years of teaching preferred.
    • Mississippi State teacher license/certification preferred. Passing Praxis I scores for Mississippi required.
    • Successful manager of a classroom who has used structure, incentives, and high expectations to drive student success.
    • Experienced classroom teacher with demonstrated quantifiable and objective student performance gains that surpass state or local averages.
    • Ability to work with a variety of learning abilities, including those with special needs and low skill level in a heterogeneously grouped classroom setting.
    • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team, especially with parents and community members.

  • Special Education Teacher

    Job Summary

    The Special Education Teacher role is a full-time position working on the Leadership Team. The Special Education Teacher is responsible for overseeing the pre-referral and referral process of special education, as well as the creation of, and execution of, IEPs and 504 plans for students with special needs. This role will have an instructional role within the school co-teaching and providing pull-out services for English Language Arts and/or Math.  The Special Education Teacher, like all Clarksdale Collegiate teachers, is accountable for the intellectual preparation for each lesson, building strong and positive relationships with students and families, using data to tailor their instruction, and actively engaging in collaboration with their colleagues.

    Essential Functions

    • Create and execute lessons for small groups of students that meet their IEP goals.
    • Collaborate with general education teachers to create and execute lessons that support all students, including those with IEPs or 504 plans.
    • Lead the creation, execution, and modification of IEPs and 504 plans.
    • Collaborate with the Leadership Team and general education teachers in coordinating schedules, modifications, and accommodations for all students with special needs.
    • Assist the Executive Director in facilitating professional development related to modifications and accommodations for students with special needs.
    • Assist in the Response to Intervention (RTI) process, and any testing necessary.
    • Manage family relationships for students on case load receiving special education services.
    • Consistently analyze scholar data and engage in self-reflection on practices.
    • Complete all duties, posts and tasks as assigned.

    • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
    • Minimum two years of Special Education teaching preferred.
    • Mississippi Special Education Certification required.
    • Track record of supporting students with special needs in achieving high levels of growth (academic & behavioral).
    • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team, especially with parents and community members.

  • Instructional Aide

    Job Summary

    The Instructional Aide position is a full-time position for kindergarten, first, or second grade. Each instructional aide is responsible for the supporting academic instruction, helping to maintain classroom management, and assisting in maintaining a positive classroom culture each day. Instructional Aides are also responsible for collaborating with the teachers on their grade level team, particularly for providing instructional support and supporting in classroom management.

    Essential Functions

    • Provide instruction one on one and in small groups in stand alone or in-classroom settings, using learning strategies designed to introduce, reinforce, or modify skills
    • Maintain high expectations for scholar behavior and academic achievement
    • Enforce Clarksdale Collegiate’s behavior management system
    • Assist in carrying out lesson plans in the event of a teacher’s absence
    • Actively participate in professional development aimed at refining school culture and academics
    • Assist teachers during the school day with instruction, oversight, and supervision of scholars
    • Model and teach core values of Clarksdale Collegiate
    • Supervise student lunch, recess, snack, and transitions as needed
    • Follow policies and procedures for health, safety, and nutrition
    • Maintain open lines of communication with staff, parents, and other stakeholders
    • Perform other duties as assigned
