  • Director of Operations

    Job Summary

    The Director of Operations is charged with managing the day-to-day school operations including technology, transportation, facilities, vendor and contractor relationships, and finance.  The founding Director of Operations will also have the charge of working with the Executive Director to prepare for a successful launch of the school including creating and executing systems to support transportation planning, facility readiness, student enrollment, and new staff onboarding. The Director of Operations will also collaborate with the back office provider on all financial operations and will manage the Office Manager, Office Fellows, and Bus Drivers.

    The Director of Operations will be responsible for maximizing the impact of the full Operations Team to ensure seamless operational systems set the foundation for a structured learning environment. The Director of Operations will be hired by and report to the Executive Director.

    Essential Functions

    • Plan for and manage daily all school-wide systems (arrival, breakfast, lunch, dismissal, etc.).
    • Handle all HR policies, procedures and paperwork; ensure compliance with all laws and regulations.
    • Support school in student recruitment and enrollment efforts, including lottery and waitlist management.
    • Project management of all renovation and building maintenance projects.
    • Plan for and manage a high-quality transportation program.
    • Ensure technology needs of classrooms and facilities are met, including infrastructure and equipment.
    • Ensure compliance with health and safety laws, charter contract, state education mandates, teacher certification, and all federal and state workplace regulations.
    • Establish systems for and manage all data for school use and reporting purposes.
    • Establish and maintain contracts with all outside vendors and contractors.
    • Complete required compliance reporting to all federal and state agencies and to the authorizer as required.
    • Establish, manage, and monitor systems and processes for the sourcing, procurement, utilization of supplies for school, including furniture, curriculum, technology, and food.
    • Work with the back-office provider to support successful completion of all required financial and compliance documents/reports and ensure school-based employees receive payroll and benefits in a timely manner.
    • Serve on the school leadership team and manage the operations team.

    Job Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
    • Minimum two years of experience in operations and/or finance.
    • Results-driven business leader with experience in, and commitment to, operational and financial excellence and the use of data and assessments to drive operational and financial decisions.
    • Ambition and desire to grow as a leader.
    • Personal and professional integrity.
    • Technological proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, QuickBooks, and other financial management and HR software.
    • Excellent communication skills with diverse stakeholders (teachers, families, students, board members); clear writer, facilitator, and public speaker.

  • Classroom Teacher

    Job Summary

    The Classroom Teacher position is a full-time teaching position for kindergarten, first, or second grade. Each teacher is responsible for the executing academic lessons, managing the classroom, and ensure a positive classroom culture each day. Teachers are also responsible for collaborating with their grade level teams, particularly for lesson planning and norming instructional practices.  All Clarksdale Collegiate teachers are accountable for the intellectual preparation for each lesson, building strong and positive relationships with students and families, using data to tailor their instruction, and actively engaging in collaboration with their colleagues.

    Essential Functions

    • Execute daily lesson plans for all assigned blocks.
    • Implement all Clarksdale Collegiate routines and procedures with fidelity.
    • Submit weekly lesson plans and unit plans in a timely manner for feedback.
    • Administer comprehensive unit assessments aligned to standards and pacing plans.
    • Actively participate in all professional development sessions and weekly coaching sessions.
    • Incorporate feedback from coaches in a timely manner.
    • Communicate weekly with families and other key stakeholders.
    • Provide scholars with frequent and accurate behavioral and academic feedback.
    • Identify students who are academically at risk and initiate effective intervention strategies.
    • Consistently analyze scholar data and engage in self-reflection on practices.
    • Complete all duties, posts and tasks as assigned.

    Job Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree required.

    • Mississippi State teacher license/certification preferred. Passing Praxis I scores for Mississippi required.

    • Experienced classroom teacher with demonstrated quantifiable and objective student performance gains that surpass state or local averages.
    • Ability to work with a variety of learning abilities, including those with special needs and low skill level in a heterogeneously grouped classroom setting.
    • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team, especially with parents and community members.

  • Special Education Teacher

    Job Summary

    The Special Education Teacher role is a full-time position working on the Leadership Team. The Special Education Teacher is responsible for overseeing the pre-referral and referral process of special education, as well as the creation of, and execution of, IEPs and 504 plans for students with special needs. This role will have an instructional role within the school co-teaching and providing pull-out services for English Language Arts and/or Math.  The Special Education Teacher, like all Clarksdale Collegiate teachers, is accountable for the intellectual preparation for each lesson, building strong and positive relationships with students and families, using data to tailor their instruction, and actively engaging in collaboration with their colleagues.

    Essential Functions

    • Create and execute lessons for small groups of students that meet their IEP goals.
    • Collaborate with general education teachers to create and execute lessons that support all students, including those with IEPs or 504 plans.
    • Lead the creation, execution, and modification of IEPs and 504 plans.
    • Collaborate with the Leadership Team and general education teachers in coordinating schedules, modifications, and accommodations for all students with special needs.
    • Assist the Executive Director in facilitating professional development related to modifications and accommodations for students with special needs.
    • Assist in the Response to Intervention (RTI) process, and any testing necessary.
    • Manage family relationships for students on case load receiving special education services.
    • Consistently analyze scholar data and engage in self-reflection on practices.
    • Complete all duties, posts and tasks as assigned.

    • Demonstrated ability to work well in a team, especially with parents and community members.
